The second stage of the project “The Space of Synagogues: Jewish History, Common Heritage and Responsibility” started on October 1st with an official press conference at the construction site, the former space of Beth Hamidrash. Located between the remains of the Golden Rose Synagogue and the site of the Great City Synagogue, the construction works on Beth Hamidrash will result in a quiet green area to reflect on the past while being located in the middle of busy historical inner city. The first steps to be done is the cleaning of the area from the spontaneous vegetation grown up here over the last 25 years and the dismantlement of broken concrete blocks from the 1980s.
